Scholarship Winner: Seth Anderson

Seth is an avid mountain lover and professional photographer who wants to create a life dedicated to adventuring, exploring and photographing the world around him. It is because of Seth's passion for summiting new peaks and his drive to establish new routes up high mountains in his community and abroad, that he was the perfect candidate to win the Gear.com scholarship.

With lofty goals of summiting 8,000m peaks, Seth also wants to get into ice climbing and glaciated mountaineering where he's inspired to explore the high peaks of Selkirks, Bugaboos and Karakoram.

You can follow Seth's adventures here at Gear.com or on Instagram at @seth.b.anderson. Some of his favourite brands are Marmot, Black Diamond and Edlerid- known for their high-performance outdoor apparel and climbing gear.

Age: 22

Being outside makes me feel: Loving and appreciative

My hero: My parents, they are my biggest believers!

What kinds of adventures will the gear on your wish list make possible? I will be adventuring to new areas and climbing large technical routes up mountains from the Tetons to Glacier National Park!

How will you pay it forward to your community? I will continually work to clean up my community and lead by example to create a greener world for all.

In five years, I want to be: Enjoying the mountains and loving ever second of my life!

Bagels or Donuts: Donuts, Duh!

Ocean or mountains: Why not both? :)

Three things on your bucket list: Travel through the Yukon, Ski Denali, and buy my mom a purple Lamborghini Aventador

Three words my friends would use to describe me: Unique, Passionate, and Smiley

Favorite book: Any Jon Krakauer novel

Favorite movie: Dirtbag: Legend of Fred Beckey

Favorite cause: Any local Bozeman or Kalispell causes getting people outside!

Outdoor misadventure story, and what did you learn from the experience? I winter camped in the Teton Mountains and was so cold me and my climbing partner didn’t sleep one bit! I learned you need to bring 3x as many layers as you think for the winter.

If I'm not at school or outside, I am: Spending time with my buds!
